Two trucks were taken off the roads after a vehicle safety detail, according to police.
Last Wednesday, the Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit carried out a commercial vehicle safety detail in the vicinity of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive in Newtown Township.
The unit, which consists of officers from the the Newtown Borough Police Department, Newtown Township Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department, conducted a thorough inspection of commercial vehicles passing through the area.
The team stopped and inspected four trucks during the detail.
As a result of the inspections, two trucks were placed out of service due to safety violations, according to a statement.
The unit also issued four citations and thirteen warnings for various violations found during the inspections, police said.
