Forecasters from the National Weather Service warned of possible severe storms for Monday.
The National Weather Service’s Mt. Holly office issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Flood Watch for Lower Bucks County for Monday.
There are chances of showers and thunderstorms all day, but the threat is set to increase in the afternoon and evening. The main threats are damaging wind and gusts as high as 60 to 70 mph, large hail, and flash flooding, forecasters said.
The greatest potential for damage will be with an expected squall line that will move through. It is likely to hit the lower and central parts of Bucks County.
Jeff Jumper, a meteorologist for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, said tweeted that the greatest risk of the hazardous storms is from 2 p.m. and midnight. He warned that they could bring isolated tornadoes.
The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center, which monitors the entire nation, placed the region in an “enhanced risk” category.
“Stay weather aware today and this evening!” forecasters said.
The forecast follows storms over the weekend that dropped heavy rain in some parts of the area.
