Paraglider Suffers Crash Landing At Newtown Middle School

UPDATE: Man Injured In Glider Crash

A paraglider was reported to have suffered a crash landing at Newtown Middle School around the time storms moved through the area.

The incident unfolded around 8:40 p.m. Monday at the school on Newtown-Richboro Road in Newtown Township.

Police, Newtown Fire Rescue, and Newtown Ambulance Squad were called to the middle school.

A source said there was an initial report of an injury, but the extent of the injury was unclear as of publication time.

The incident, which came across county 9-1-1 dispatch as a small airplane crash, followed storms that blew through the region. It was not clear if the storms played a role.

Police and fire officials weren’t immediately available for comment.
