After over two decades at its location in the Village of Newtown shopping center, the beloved Newtown Bookshop is gearing up for a move.

In an announcement made on Thursday, Kathy Morrison, owner of the Newtown Bookshop, revealed the business’ plan to transition to a new location within the same shopping center by early October.

The store will move from the Village of Newtown Shopping Center to the Village of Newtown South, which is near the Borscht Belt and the Newtown Farmer’s Market.

“We enjoyed our current center for over 20 years but want to position ourselves for continued success and growth and feel this move will help us achieve that,” Morrison said.

The relocation promises not just a change in the address but also an updated look for the store, which will be able to accommodate a larger number of attendees during in-store events.

Morrison extended her gratitude to the community, saying, “Thank you for your overwhelming support of the Newtown Bookshop! And I humbly ask for your continued support as we move onto our next chapter.”

The bookshop will continue operations at its existing location until the anticipated move in fall.
