Seafood restaurant Blue Point Grill has officially opened its doors in the Newtown Shopping Center after several months of construction.

“The day is finally here! We are officially open for service,” announced the eatery via a Facebook post on Thursday.

The family-owned establishment also expressed its enthusiasm, stating, “We are so excited and looking forward to serving you.”

However, patrons should be aware of limited seating availability during the initial weeks and make reservations in advance, according to the business.

“We will be limiting seating a bit for the first few weeks and we will be closed Mondays to ensure our staff is trained and ready to be the best we can for Newtown,” the restaurant shared in the post.

The restaurant is located on West Road, taking over the space previously occupied by the Corner Bakery Café.

Jack Morrison, president of the JM Group, which owns Blue Point, has previously disclosed to township officials that the restaurant will have a total seating capacity of 245, spanning both indoor and outdoor areas.

The Newtown Township location is the second Blue Point Grill, with the original restaurant having opened its doors in Princeton, New Jersey in 1999.

For those curious about the culinary offerings, Blue Point Grill’s menu is said to be updated daily to showcase the freshest seafood catch. However, they also have staples that seafood lovers can look forward to, such as the classic New England clam chowder and delectable lump crab cakes, according to the eatery’s website.
