Work on the Prickett Preserve at Edgewood development has continued in recent months, with the new Wegmans grocery store set to open early next year.

The more than 30-acre mixed-use development nestled between Stony Hill Road and I-295 in Lower Makefield Township, which sits only a few hundred yards from the borders with Middletown and Newtown townships, will have a CVS, Chase Bank, other retail shops, and a Firebirds Wood Fired Grill when completed.

Crews have been hard at work on the nearly 90,000-square-foot Wegmans, which will anchor the complex. Patch.com reported the store will have 400 employees.

The grocery store will be the chain’s second in Bucks County, with the first being near the Valley Square complex in Warrington Township.

The complex’s high-end apartments are near completion, with a sales office already open.

Marketing materials for the complex teased Tropical Smoothie, First Watch, and Spenga: Spin + Strength + Yoga will be among the other tenants at the site, according to Phillyburbs.com.

The Prickett Preserve at Edgewood development was first proposed in 2019 and received final approval in 2021. There was opposition to the plan at the time.

DeLuca Homes and Equus Capital are developing the project across from the Shady Brook Farm and the Lower Makefield Corporate Center.
