Santander Bank in Newtown Township will be moving to the Village of Newtown.

The bank came before the Newtown Township Zoning Hearing Board on Thursday evening to obtain variances to make the move from the Newtown Business Commons on Terry Drive to the Village of Newtown on Eagle Road.

According to Newtown Patch, the bank obtained zoning relief for five signs for the new 2,643-square-foot branch that will take a space that was previously home to Barre3, which moved to nearby Middletown Township.

The bank will go into the building that houses AFC Urgent Care and Playa Bowls.

Boston-based Santander Bank is a subsidiary of the Spanish Santander Group. It operates more than 650 bank branches in the northeastern part of the country.
