Dump Truck, SUV Collide Outside Bucks County Community College

Police, fire, and medics responded to the scene.

A dump truck and an SUV violently collided outside Bucks County Community College’s campus in Newtown Township on Wednesday.

The crash happened just before 9:30 a.m. on Swamp Road outside of the main entrance to the community college.

The dump truck pushed a Honda Pilot SUV across the roadway and against a brick sign for the community college.

The SUV suffered heavy damage to its side.

Firefighters from Newtown Fire-Rescue and the Newtown Ambulance Squad were dispatched to the scene.

Fire Chief Glenn Forsyth said the drivers were out of the vehicle by the time crews arrived, but no other services from the fire company were needed.

Authorities did not immediately provide information on any injuries.

Newtown Township police blocked and diverted traffic around the scene as crews cleaned up the wreckage.

On the community college property, campus security officers assisted drivers who needed help getting back on their way.
