Fraud

At approximately 4:20 p.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township restaurant for the report of a fraud in progress involving counterfeit currency. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

January 20

Fraud

At approximately 1:35 p.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a check fraud. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Fraud

Around 5 p.m., a Newtown Township business contacted police to report check fraud. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

January 21

Retail Theft

Police were dispatched to Lululemon around 4 p.m. for the report of a retail theft. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

January 22

Fraud

A Newtown Township resident contacted police at approximately 2:30 p.m. to report unemployment fraud. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry handles the investigation of such matters, and the incident was documented for the resident.

January 25

Identity Theft

Police were dispatched to TD Bank at 5:40 p.m. for the report of an attempted fraud in progress. As a result of the investigation, one male subject was taken into custody and charged with identity theft, possessing a controlled substance, evading arrest or detention on foot, resisting arrest, unauthorized use of an access device, and attempted theft by unlawful taking.
