A quick response by Upper Makefield Township police following a homeowner’s alert about suspicious activity outside their home Tuesday night led to an arrest.

Authorities said they are still searching for additional suspects.

Around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, police were dispatched to a residence on the unit block of Crimson Leaf Drive after the homeowner, who was away at the time, reported seeing two individuals in the backyard peering into windows with flashlights. One of the intruders was described as wearing a ski mask.

The homeowner was able to notify the authorities quickly by calling 9-1-1 after witnessing the activity through their camera system.

At the scene, officers conducted a thorough check of the residence and surrounding neighborhood. Although the residence was found secure and the suspects had fled, officers located a suspicious vehicle nearby, police said.

The investigation led to the arrest of an individual connected to the incident. They will be facing various charges, police said.

The search for the two subjects seen on the homeowner’s video continued with assistance from neighboring police departments and a police K-9 unit.

Despite the manhunt, the remaining suspects remained at large, police said.

During the investigation, another report of a forced entry came from the unit block of Greenbriar Circle.

Officers responded to find the front door smashed but no suspects present. This scene was also processed by detectives.

The Upper Makefield Township Police Department said they were actively continuing the investigation as of Wednesday and has called upon residents of the Weatherfield Development to review their camera systems for any footage of suspicious vehicles or individuals.

A white BMW sedan is of particular interest in the investigation, and authorities are exploring the possibility of another vehicle being involved.

Upper Makefield police expressed gratitude towards the Lower Makefield Township and Newtown Township police departments for their support.

Residents with any relevant information or video footage are urged to contact the Upper Makefield Township Police Department at 215-968-3020.
