The coordinated 2024 election campaign by Pennsylvania Democrats has opened three new campaign offices in Bucks County.

The openings in Newtown and Doylestown on Tuesday were followed by a Bensalem Township office on Wednesday. The openings were attended by party supporters, volunteers, and elected officials.

Campaign officials said the offices opening mark a significant early push in their election strategy.

These launches are part of a broader “week of action,” initiated with the unveiling of the party’s Western Pennsylvania Headquarters in Pittsburgh the previous Saturday.

An official from President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign emphasized the role of these local offices in supporting Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.

Nikki Lu, the Biden’s Pennsylvania campaign manager, said the offices show the early investment in the county.

“While Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have capped the cost of insulin at $35 a month for seniors, helped create 500,000 good paying jobs in Pennsylvania alone, and worked to protect our Constitution and democracy, Donald Trump has vowed to repeal the Affordable Care Act, pass a nationwide abortion ban, and be a dictator on ‘day 1,'” Lu said. “We’re going to make sure Bucks County voters know that there is a choice between old ideas in Trump and new ideas in Joe Biden this November.”

Bucks County is the largest swing county in Pennsylvania and is considered a national bellwether by election watchers and campaigns. Biden won by 5 points in 2020 and Hillary Clinton won the county in 2016. The county is widely known as a moderate county with competitive races between Democrats and Republicans.

State Sen. Steve Santarsiero, head of the county’s Democratic Party, said the county has an important role in the Democrats’ statewide strategy and lauded President Biden’s contributions to Pennsylvania’s infrastructure and job market.

“In 2020, Bucks County played an important part in securing a victory in Pennsylvania for President Biden, and we will again in 2024,” Santarsiero said.

As the 2024 general election draws closer, the competition appears tight, with recent polls indicating a close race between Biden, 81, and Trump, 77.

Public and internal Democratic and Republican polling in recent years has shown Trump has been unpopular among voters asked in the county.

Campaign finance disclosures recently reveal a significant fundraising lead for Biden, with $155 million in his war chest, compared to Trump’s $42 million. However, Trump’s campaign is actively planning a $33 million fundraiser next week to narrow the gap, according to the New York Post.

It is unclear if Trump has opened a campaign office in Pennsylvania, and none are believed to have opened in Bucks County. A request for comment was not returned.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an independent running for president who has gained some traction in polls, has not opened a campaign office in the county.

This week, Democratic congressional candidate Ashley Ehasz opened a campaign office in Bristol.
