April 12

Protection From Abuse Order Violation

At approximately 7:47 p.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a Protection from Abuse violation and a burglary.  One individual was arrested.

April 14

DUI

At approximately 5:22 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Newtown Yardley Road and Penns Trail for a report of a driver asleep behind the wheel. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

April 15

Assault

At approximately 9:59 p.m., police met with a Newtown Township resident for the report of an assault. As a result of the investigation, charges are pending for Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Harassment.

April 17

Truck Enforcement

The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of Washington Avenue and Elm Avenue in Newtown Borough. The unit is made up of officers from this department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. During the detail, 10 trucks were stopped and inspected. No trucks were placed out of service, and 1 citation and 5 warnings were issued for violations that were found.

Possession Of A Weapon

At approximately 5:26 pm police met with an individual for the report of an armed subject.  As a result of the investigation, one individual was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon, simple assault, and terroristic threats.
