The Capital Grille is moving closer to opening its doors in the Village at Newtown on South Eagle Road later this summer.
The Newtown Township steakhouse has been under construction for several months and is transforming the former Pier 1 location into a eatery and bar.
The new 8,500-square-foot Capital Grille will open at an unspecified date, but the company’s website states that a summer opening is expected.
In 2023, a company representative told the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors that this location would be among a select group situated outside densely-populated cities.
The Capital Grille will join a number of restaurants in the shopping center, which has undergone significant renovations in recent years.
In preparation for The Capital Grille’s opening, the shopping center repaved the parking lot earlier this month.
The new restaurant will feature a total seating capacity of 236, including private dining rooms.
