Car enthusiasts and community members will gather on State Street in Newtown Borough for the much-anticipated Newtown Antique and Classic Auto Show this weekend.
The free-to-attend show is scheduled for Sunday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Organized by the Newtown Business Association (NBA), the annual event will feature a stunning collection of classic and antique vehicles.
There will be trophies awarded in ten different categories, including pre-1959 models, trucks, and Corvettes.
The popular car show will bring thousands of people to the borough and to local businesses.
“Our goal is always to encourage our community to work with local businesses and spend time in our downtown. The added benefit of classic cars parked up and down State Street ensures businesses in the area will benefit from the crowds and fun!” said NBA President Dave Marcolla.
“We love seeing the new cars that decide to come out each year but also love catching up with the owners that have been participating faithfully in years past,” said Dan Petty, Event Chair. “Folks have upgraded more things over the year, gotten fresh paint and even sometimes acquired new (old) cars to show off. We love seeing the level of passion and dedication that gets put into each car while also appreciating the level of character others seek to preserve. The smiles on the faces of the attendees and the participants year-after-year make the hard work we put into the show worthwhile!”
“The Newtown Antique & Classic Car Show has been and is the quintessential hometown motoring event,” said Charlie Feuer, 2024 car show judge. “The judges are absolute aficionados who have known the classes of vehicles all of their lives and take pride in selecting the Best for everyone’s benefit. It’s become increasingly difficult to choose the Best and has caused us to add a Third Place award. We love the challenge!”
