Bucks County Community College’s Arts and Communication Department and the Arts and Cultural Council of Bucks County and Visit Bucks County has kicked off a new art and wine exhibition.

The 2024 Bucks County Wine and Art Trail Exhibition is taking place at the Hicks Art Center Gallery at 275 Swamp Road at Newtown Township through October 27.

The exhibition will kick off with an opening reception on Friday, October 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

During the event, attendees will have the chance to meet the artists and sample wines featured in the artworks. Participants must be at least 21 years old to sample wines.

This year marks a significant change in venue as the exhibition moves from Freeman Hall to the Hicks Art Center Gallery.

“We have always believed in finding new opportunities for our creative members and this partnership with Hicks Art Center Gallery is just the opportunity,” said board member Ashara Shapiro.

The exhibition will showcase 39 regional artists who have produced paintings, drawings, and photographs inspired by Bucks County wineries.

Visitors can enjoy and purchase over 50 framed works, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting student scholarships at Bucks County Community College.

Artists, like Sandy Askey-Adams, Sally Bishop, and Jean Broden, created their artworks “en plein air” or made preparatory sketches and photographs in the vineyards before completing their pieces in the studio. Participating vineyards include Bishop Estate, Buckingham Valley, Crossing, Rose Bank, Rushland Ridge, Sand Castle, and Wycombe.
