A congressional candidate forum will be held on Tuesday evening for the First Congressional District of Pennsylvania.

The event, which is hosted by the New Pennsylvania Project, is set to take place at Bucks County Community College in Newtown Township from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The forum will be held in the Gallagher Room at 275 Swamp Road.

Democratic challenger Ashley Ehasz has confirmed her attendance for the forum. However, incumbent Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican, is not expected to participate.

The New Pennsylvania Project, a non-profit organization focused on various civic issues including voter registration and education, issued invitations to both candidates.

Kadida Kenner, CEO of the New Pennsylvania Project, will moderate the event.

The organization said topics and questions for the forum will not be disclosed to the candidates beforehand.

The forum is open to both the public and the press, but RSVPs are required. To RSVP for the forum, click here.

Recent years have marked a shift from the pre-pandemic era when the district, which includes all of Bucks County and parts of Montgomery County, had several in-person and radio-broadcasted debates. The last debate between Fitzpatrick and Ehasz took place in 2022 at the community college’s Bristol Township campus, which saw significant attendance and coverage from multiple media outlets, including a live broadcast by NewtownPANow.com and a broadcast on PCN TV.

Recently, Ehasz released a video on social media urging Fitzpatrick to engage in a public debate.

The New Pennsylvania Project is focused on engaging voters across the political spectrum, advocating for comprehensive reforms in voting rights, policing, wage standards, educational funding, and cancellation of student debt, according to its website.
