A dump truck hauling gravel tipped onto a work van Monday morning near the Newtown Bypass
The crash happened on Langhorne-Newtown Road at the Newtown Bypass in Middletown Township.
Police, firefighters, and ambulance crews were called to the scene for a wreck with entrapment.
The van had two people entrapped inside, according to officials.
“Crews worked together to quickly extricate the occupants and control hazards,” according to a post from the Middletown Township Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
The intersection was closed for some time as crews responded to the crash and cleared the scene, which included removing the gravel from the roadway.
Middletown Township police were investigating the crash.
Further details on injuries were not immediately released.
In addition to Middletown Township police and firefighters, Newtown Fire-Rescue, the Northampton Township Fire Department, the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad, the Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad, Newtown Borough Police Department, and Newtown Township Police Department responded.
