Drivers in Bucks County should prepare for a slow and potentially hazardous commute Tuesday morning as a winter weather system is expected to move through the area.
The National Weather Service warns that light wintry precipitation will start early Christmas Eve morning. It will begin as snow before transitioning to a wintry mix.
The precipitation is expected to create slippery conditions on untreated roads during the morning hours, forecasters said.
A dusting to nearly one inch of snow is possible.
“If you plan to travel tomorrow morning, plan for some extra time to reach your destination! Temperatures will warm above freezing into the afternoon, which should help alleviate any slippery road conditions into the afternoon hours,” according to the National Weather Service.
A Winter Weather Advisory covers lower and central Bucks County for Tuesday morning.
The bout of wintry weather follows a few inches of light snow from Friday night into Saturday morning and a spell of extreme cold that affected the region on Sunday and Monday.
