Philadelphia will celebrate the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory with a parade down Broad Street on Friday, the team president said Monday.
The Eagles hinted at the celebration in an Instagram video after the Sunday night win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“See ya Friday,” the post read.
“At 13 miles, Broad Street is Philadelphia’s longest straightaway,” actor and Eagles’ fan Bradley Cooper said in a video posted by the team. “It may only be 100 feet wide, but we’ll find a way to make room – for everyone.”
During an interview on 94.1 WIP-FM, team President Don Smolenski confirmed the Friday date.
Smolenski cited concerns about wintry weather forecasts as the reason for the Friday scheduling during the radio interview.
Although official times have not been released, the 2018 Super Bowl parade began around 11 a.m. in South Philadelphia, marched up Broad Street, and finished near the Art Museum in the early afternoon.
The 2018 parade was held on a Thursday.
City officials are anticipating a massive turnout, with fans traveling from across the region to celebrate.
