A Council Rock School District student has been charged in juvenile court after allegedly using an artificial intelligence program to create inappropriate images of classmates.
The charges follow an investigation by Newtown Township police and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, but were reported by the Bucks County Courier Times last week.
In spring, word spread around the school that underage students were targets of what is commonly called “deepfake” nude images, sources told NewtownPANow.com.
The investigation came to light in early June, and the district did not comment on it.
Few details are publicly available due to laws concerning students and juvenile court proceedings.
