The 75th Middletown Grange Fair will open Wednesday, Aug. 12, to kick off five days of agricultural exhibits, entertainment, and food.
The fair, which runs through Sunday, Aug. 17, is located at 576 Penns Park Road.
Gates will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Organizers expect more than 60,000 guests over the course of the five-day event, according to Amber DiIanni, a consultant and former fair president.
“Our fair is not just an opportunity not just to ride fair rides and eat fair foods, but to come together as a community in the final days of summer,” DiIanni said. “We see the fair as a time and place to connect with neighbors and take a look at the special role agriculture plays.”
Fair attractions will include 4-H displays, baking contests, amusement rides, art exhibitions, farm animals and local business booths. Highlights include pig races, a tractor parade, a pedal power tractor pull, and horse-drawn wagon rides.
Amusement rides will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Parking passes are available for $20 for five days, and a five-day fair pass is $50.
The fair is entirely run by volunteers.
Last week, the Bucks County Commissioners issued a proclamation to celebrate the event.
The Middletown Grange Fair began in 1948 after a national challenge to grow 300 bushels of corn. Members of the Middletown Grange planted corn in Yardley and invited the public to help with the harvest. The organization bought the current 48-acre property in Wrightstown Township in 1966.
