The greenhouses that once grew roses throughout the year along Buck Road in Northampton Township are now piles of debris.

Bucks County Roses, which provided year-round blooms from its Northampton Township location since 1929, closed its doors after its property was sold for redevelopment.

The shop, which had been operating since 1981, made the announcement to customers on Facebook last week.

The closure marks the end of 95 years in operation for the rose farm.

In their farewell message, the owners expressed deep gratitude to their clientele and staff.

“We extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering loyalty and support,” the owners wrote. “You’ve entrusted us with the petals that marked your joys, sorrows, milestones and everyday delights, allowing us to weave beauty into the tapestry of your lives.”

The owner noted the relationships built over the years were the true legacy of the shop.

“Your smiles, stories, friendship and shared moments have been the true heart of our shop,” the message continued. “Though our doors have closed, the warmth you’ve brought us will forever flourish in our memories—thank you for every bloom and every bond.”

The owners also thanked their staff over the decades.

“What a wild ride it has been! Thank you!” they wrote.

While the rose farm has ceased operations, one affiliated business, Beyond Beautiful Weddings by Pat, will continue to operate by appointment.

The 17.8-acre site is slated for a housing development.

Developer KB Buck Road LLC plans to construct 13 single-family homes with a cul-de-sac.

Previous public plans indicated that an 80-foot-tall smokestack on the property, currently used for wireless transmission equipment, is expected to remain.
