Bucks County Community College will be receiving an updated mascot.

The community college recently hosted a campaign that frames their Centurion mascot as “missing.” Shadowy images of the Roman gladiator at Bucks County landmarks were circulated on social media in advance of the reveal, which is expected to come next week during a pep rally.

The updated mascot will represent the college’s sports teams, all of whom compete in the Region XIX of the NJCAA and the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic conference

The new custom-made mascot accompanied a fundraising campaign that asked “Have You Seen Our Centurion?” and urged supporters to “Bring Our Mascot Home!” Donations large and small from students and staff raised more than $7,000 in just five days.

The pep rally next Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Newtown Campus will feature giveaways for students, the launch of a naming contest for the Centurion and music provided by Radio BUX. Athletes from the community college’s nine intercollegiate sports teams will be on hand for the mascot reveal.
