‘Artistry in Wood’ Show To Be Held This Weekend


carving_of_duckThe Pennsylvania Delaware Valley Woodcarvers are celebrating their annual “Artistry in Wood” show and competition this weekend.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the show which will take place Saturday and Sunday at the  Bucks County Technical High School at 610 Wistar Road in Bristol Township. On Saturday, the show runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission costs $5 and children under 12 are free with adults. One dollar off coupons can be found on the organization’s website, www.delvalwoodcarvers.com, or at Joe’s Pizza on Emilie Road in Levittown, or Beach’s Hardware on Ford Road in Bristol.

A number of different types of wood artistry will be on display, including carvings and burnings. Vendors will also be present at the event. There will be free demonstrations, door prizes, raffles and scavenger hunts for kids. One of the raffle prizes is the “Friendship Walking Stick.” The proceeds of this raffle will go towards aiding the armed services.

Local members from the Whittle Awhile club will be present for anyone who is interested in joining the wood hobbies club.
