A group of five teenagers came to the aid of an elderly woman who fell last week.

Newtown Borough police say the teens found the 98-year-old woman on the ground in the 400 block of Edgeboro Drive Friday. The Council Rock School District students discovered the 98-year-old woman on the ground as they were cutting through the area.

The teens helped the elderly woman off the ground and onto a chair until emergency respondents arrived, police said.

An officer was met at the scene by one of the teens, who guided authorities to the 98 year old.

The woman was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation, police said.

“We at the police department applaud these young men for assisting the female and getting her the assistance she needed. If they had not found her and called for help, this could have been a tragic ending,” borough police wrote on Facebook.

Police told NewtownPANow.com that the teens did not wish to be identified for their kind actions.
