A Newtown woman has been picked to run the Bucks County Network of Victim Assistance (NOVA.)
Penelope R. Ettinger has been hired as the executive director of the nonprofit that provides victim services from offices in Fairless Hills, Jamison and Perkasie. Ettinger began work at NOVA on March 14.
“We are thrilled to welcome Penny Ettinger to our organization,” NOVA Board President Carlene Szostak said. “She brings with her an impressive array of people skills and a well-rounded 15-year record in the non-profit service industry.”
Ettinger fills the post that Barbra Clark held for 25 years before retiring.
“This is an exciting opportunity for me to work with an organization that has demonstrated its commitment to its mission and the community for over four decades,” Ettinger said. “Along with strengthening NOVA’s sustainability, my goals are to work with our internal and external partners to ensure that victims of crime receive a seamless continuum of care and to support NOVA’s prevention education programs so that all children, adults and families have the tools they need to have their lives free of violence.”
From NOVA:
Ms. Ettinger has consulted with various nonprofit agencies for the past two years as head of her own firm. Her experience in the nonprofit public health services sector includes most recently three years as executive director of Prevention Education Inc. in New Jersey. There she oversaw more than 100 employees and volunteers who provided intervention and prevention services to more than 16,000 children annually, reducing violence in the lives of children, youth and families from child sexual abuse, youth violence, gang culture, bullying and child abuse and neglect.
