The Newtown Borough Municipal Parking Lot reopened late Friday afternoon.
Crews from Bray Brothers of Fallsington finished milling and paving the parking lot late this week and began re-striping newly paved parking spaces on Friday. While there are some spaces that still need to be marked, the lot was opened as of 4:30 p.m. Friday and cars were beginning to fill it up.
The $200,000 borough project to redo the parking lot that sits between Washington and Centre avenues began in February and originally had a completion deadline of mid-March.
At the borough council meeting earlier this week, two change orders totaling nearly $9,000 were approved to complete concrete work and an order of an extra 20 tons of fill to smooth out depressions in the lot.
