Shutterbugs, start making your way out to the Washington Crossing Historic Park.

The local park has launched what they’re calling a “parkitecture” photo contest for the month of April; encouraging area residents to snap photos that celebrate the gorgeous architectural elements on display throughout the park.

“As long as the picture features one (or more) of the park’s buildings, statues, or other structures, the sky is the limit!” notes the park’s website.

Both sides of the park, the Upper Park containing the Thompson-Neely House and Bowman’s Tower, as well as the Lower Park containing the Taylorsville Village and the visitor center, are both fair game for the contest.

According to officials, three local photography experts will judge all the entries on originality, overall impact, artistic merit, and how well the photos celebrate the park’s architecture. The 10 best photographs will then be framed and put on display in the park’s visitor center beginning next month.

The 10 best photographs will also be posted to the park’s Facebook page, where the public can vote by ‘liking’ their favorite photo. The photograph with the most likes by May 9, will be named the People’s Choice winner. That photographer will then win a $50 gift certificate to the Washington Crossing Inn, according to park officials.

Only one entry is allowed per person, so make your way out to Washington Crossing Historic Park and start snapping!
