The Newtown Historic Association is set to show off some historic artifacts from their collection at an upcoming annual business meeting.

The yearly meeting, which will also see the election of directors and officers for the new term, will be held Monday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Half Moon Inn at 105 Court Street in Newtown. The Half Moon Inn currently serves as the association’s headquarters.

Following the meeting, the association will present ‘Treasures from the Attic’ – a collection of historic artifacts from the Newtown Historic Association.

The Half Moon Inn, according to the association, is a repository of deeds, wills, diaries, books, maps, photos, genealogies and other documents relating to Newtown and the surrounding area, especially strong in the period when Newtown was the county seat (1725-1813), including a special collection on early America’s foremost folk painter, Edward Hicks (1780-1849).

All are invited to the free event and refreshments will be provided.
