Countryside Gallery and Custom Frame Design presented their 2016 Spring Show on Friday evening featuring local artists Rita Flack and Patricia Dooley.
Solebury resident Rita Flack was one of the artists featured. She began painting seven years ago after raising her family and working in the family’s horticultural business which is now run by her son.
Flack said she spends about 9 hours on average on each painting, which she creates standing up. She said she studies a series of four to five images before creating her art work.
Artist Patricia Dooley of Buckingham moved from a career in New York City-area banking to creating paintings of objects she likes or places she had visited. She said she has been painting since the age of 15 but found more time to create oil paintings since she retired in 2004.
Countryside Gallery and Custom Frame Design held a reception for the artists on Friday evening.
The crowd at the show included Kay Olson and Tom Sloan from Bristol Township who came out to see the artwork of their friend, Flack.
Also in attendance was Feasterville-based artist John Murphy, who sells some of his portraits of people, pets, aspects of the home and steam trains at the State Street shop.
