Council Rock School District officials will be holding a information meeting about the planned Newtown Middle School project.

The community is invited to the auditorium of Newtown Middle School on Richboro Road Monday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m. for the meeting.

Officials will brief the public on the plan to build a new school at the current Newtown Middle School site and add on 70,000-square-feet to Holland Middle School in Northampton. Council Rock Director of Operations Doug Taylor and project engineers and the project’s construction firm will be on hand to share information with the public.

In a posting on the district website, officials advised that redistricting decisions will not be made until the 2018-2019 school year approaches.

Last month, the school board accepted $87 million in bids to build a new school and upgrade Holland Middle School.
