For one Newtown Township woman, selling an item through the Newtown Yard Seller facebook page didn’t go exactly as planned.

The local woman reported to police that after posting an itme for sale on the page she received a message from a Doylestown woman who indicated interest in purchasing the item at the seller’s Newtown home.

According to a recent release by police, the two women met at the seller’s home and after the item was placed in the buyer’s vehicle, the Doylestown woman left without paying. The woman then reportedly blocked the seller from her Facebook.

Newtown Township police took the incident as an opportunity to stress to the public that these sorts of transactions can be completed in the parking lot at police headquarters to decrease the likelihood of a situation like this.

Police have advised the seller that she will need to seek payment by filing charges through the district court.
