There’s a farm in Bucks County where dozens of pigs are looking for new homes.

On Saturday, the public will get a chance to stop by the Pig Placement Network’s sixth annual PiggyPalooza at Ross Mill Farm on 2464 Walton Road in Jamison.

According to organizers, the family fun event will feature music, dancing and kids entertainment. Parking and a shuttle pickup will be at Rushland Road and Zachary Lane in Jamison.

The dozens of pigs live at Ross Mill Farm until they are adopted. The farm also offers boarding facilities for pig owners to have peace of mind that their pigs are loved and well cared for in their absence.

The farm often rescues pigs turned in by owners who can’t handle them after they get to adult size. Some pig owners purchased the pigs after being fooled into thinking “teacup pigs” or “mini pigs” are real.

There is a common misconception that “teacup pigs” exist and will remain tiny. In reality, there is no such thing as a teacup pig; only baby pigs that will eventually grow to be over 150 pounds by age 4, according to Sheryl Rotondi, special events coordinator for the farm.

Volunteers and donations are appreciated since caring for all these pigs requires quite an amount of resources. Also, if you have interest in these animals and are unable to have one of your own, Pig Placement Network, which has been around since 1999, offers sponsorship of a pig. More information can be found on their website.

At the Ross Mill Farm, pigs relax, graze the farm and appear to enjoy the good life. The Ross Mill Farm opened in 1991 but the property has been used by farmers for nearly 300 years.

Tickets for PiggyPalooza are $15 for adults and can be purchased by clicking here.

If you can’t make it Saturday, the farm is open daily from noon until 3 p.m. to visit the pigs.
