Lower Bucks County played a major role in the founding of the United States. This year, towns around the lower end of Bucks County will celebrate our nation’s independence.
We’ve compiled a list of activities – including fireworks– to help you plan your holiday weekend!
Bristol Borough
The Bristol Borough Business Association will be hosting First Friday On the Delaware starting at 5 p.m. and running until 8 p.m. The event will feature the businesses on Mill Street and Radcliffe Streets opening their doors and having events throughout the central business district.
Lower Southampton
The town’s annual Independence Day Parade will be held Monday beginning at 1 p.m. Local sports teams, musical performers, first responders floats and more will be part of the annual parade. The parade kicks off on Bustleton Pike at Second Street and will end in the are of Lower Southampton Elementary School.
Middletown
The annual Fourth of July Parade will kick off at 9 a.m. in the area of Veterans Memorial Park on Veterans Highway (Route 413) and ends at Twin Oaks Park.
Sesame Place will host fireworks following the 9 p.m. performance of the park’s Neighborhood Birthday Party Parade Sunday and Monday. Fireworks time is subject to change.
Upper Makefield (Washington Crossing)
The Upper Makefield Business Association Revolutionary Run will kick off at 8 a.m. Monday For more information on the fun run, 5K and 10K, please click here.
From noon until 4 p.m. Monday, attendees can watch living historians demonstrate crafts, tour historic buildings and even see a military encampment at Washington Crossing Historic Park. The Declaration of Independence will also be read at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Admission for the rain or shine event is $8 for adults and $4 for children aged 5-11. Children under 5 are free. All proceeds support educational and historical programming in the park.
A free fireworks display will be presented at Washington Crossing Historic Park at dusk on the Fourth of July. The display is the first at the park in more than 20 years.
Upper Southampton
The Southampton Days Parade will start at 9:30 a.m. Monday on Second Street Pike at Jaymor Road and march to Klinger Middle School. The parade will feature first responders, local sports groups, musical performers and much more.
The annual Southampton Days Fair starts Monday (opening every evening at 7:30 p.m.) and ends Saturday evening. The fair will have Fourth of July fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m. adjacent to the fairgrounds.
