The threat of stormy weather has forced the organizers of the planned July 4th fireworks at Washington Crossing Historic Park to postpone the show until Friday.
The fireworks were set to go off at dusk and will now take place at the Upper Makefield historic site at dusk on Friday. Organizers said safety was their number one priority.
The daytime events at the site are still scheduled. Attendees can watch living historians demonstrate crafts, tour historic buildings and even see a military encampment at Washington Crossing Historic Park. The Declaration of Independence will also be read at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Admission for the rain or shine event is $8 for adults and $4 for children aged 5-11. Children under 5 are free. All proceeds support educational and historical programming in the park.
The Friday fireworks show will be free.
