A unique opportunity has opened up at the Washington Crossing Historic Park.
According to a recent release, the historic park is currently seeking rowers and boat crew members for its annual reenactments of George Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River in December.
Those interested in the opportunity are invited to an informational meeting on Tuesday, August 2 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Continental Tavern in Yardley. During the meeting, current crew members will take the time to explain requirements and obligations of rowing during the Decvember events as well as detailed safety precautions. An upcoming boat drill schedule will also be discussed.
Two reenactments are scheduled for this year. The first will be held Sunday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the 64th annual Christmas Day crossing will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on December 25, according to officials.
