Over the next year, a contractor working for PennDOT will repave two roads in Wrightstown.

Swamp and Worthington Mill roads will be resurfaced as part of a $4.8 million project that will impact 25 roads in the Philadelphia region. The  resurfacing is the only road being replaced in the Newtown area.

The road will be resurfaced with a high-friction surface treatment to provide increased friction and grip on pavements in wet and dry conditions, PennDOT officials said.

While no date for the work for the two Wrightstown roads has been announced, PennDOT said the work will be completed by July 2017.

Contractor J.D. Eckman Inc. of Atglen, Chester County is completing the project. The work will be paid for with 80 percent federal funds and 20 percent state funds.
