PETS OF THE WEEK: Lots of Cats

Shelter Of the Week: Bucks County SPCA

Name: Cali

ppcali
I have had a short life, but a busy one. I had kittens when I was a young gal and I was a great mom, but now my babies are off in their own happy homes. I have been spayed and at two years of age I am ready for some “me” time. My owner is relocating but I am not part of the move and that makes me a little sad. However, I am an optimist and I know there are good things ahead. As you can see, I am very beautiful, with a white, orange and black patchwork coat, beautiful yellow-green eyes, and a very cute pink nose. I am OK with other cats although I still feel a little shy in these new surroundings, so when you stop by my cage, give me a few minutes to get to know you. We can have a quiet chat and you can tell me how beautiful I am because every girl likes to hear that. And in this case, it is so true! https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35562280

Name: Diamond

ppdiamond

You would expect a cat named Diamond to be beautiful, right? And you would be right on target where I am concerned. I am a classically gorgeous tabby cat. I have a stripe-y coat that is super soft, a tan tummy, and a salmon-colored nose. So how did I end up at the Lahaska SPCA? I was selected from among many other cats living at a shelter that was closing, so clearly the folks here know a superior cat when they see her! I had been there a year and a half, almost my entire cat life. Given how gorgeous I am, it is hard to believe that I was passed by so many times by potential adopters. I am not really shy, I am just not as forward as some cats. I really like to be petted and enjoy interacting with humans, but I also love to quietly sit in a window and watch the world go by. Being in a shelter is no way for a cat to live out her life, especially a cat like I am with so much to give. Once you meet me I think you will agree. https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35294570

Name: Luna

My former owners called me a lovable lap cat, which pretty much describes who I am. I would still be living with them, but someone in the family developed allergies, which was bad luck for me. I do not mean to complain, but at thirteen years of age it is a little hard to be starting life over! So there are all kinds of good things you should know about me. For starters, I am already spayed and have tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Although I may seem a little distant right now, I am actually a friendly girl who likes to be petted you will know this by my rumbly purr. I am pretty, litter-box-trained, and up to date on my necessary shots. Oh, and I have years of experience as a pet cat and excellent references. I will be delighted to fill that same job in your household. https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35835316

As tuxedo cats go, I’m one of the best. Don’t believe me? Just ask any of my friends in the Cat Room. I’m a talkative girl with long white whiskers that really stand out against my beautiful black fur face. Add white paws (and I’m front-paw declawed) and round green eyes and its pretty clear that Im a winner in the looks department. Ive been spayed and have tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. I’m looking for a home where I can be the only cat. I would also like my new home to be dog-free. Then I can be comfortable as a one-and-only lap cat – and I’m talking about YOUR lap – and give you all my love. https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35380170

Name: Midnight

ppmidnight

“Midnight” is a good name for a cat who has a stunning all-black coat, right? There is no question that I am beautiful, and the good news is that I am also very affectionate, comfortable with being held, and experienced with living with both cats and a dog. I am also spayed, negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and up to date on my inoculations. My caregivers here think of me as a purring machine, and it is true that I do purr a lot. I guess that is because I am basically a happy girl even though my owner is moving and cannot take me along. At eleven years of age it has been a tough transition from my own home to a more confined space in the Cat Room, but I have managed because everyone here has shown me so much love Of course, I will be even happier when I have my very own person to cuddle with. And that is where you come in! https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35131373

I am what might be called a “full figured” gal, definitely bigger than your average cat. But believe me when I say that there’s nothing average about me. I have a beautiful black coat (just a smudge of white under my chin) and an outgoing personality. So why am I looking for a new home? There was a toddler in my former family who liked to chase me and I didn’t like it, so I wasn’t always polite (so to speak). Thus, here I am, temporarily living in the Cat Room while I await my next adventure. I am seven years old, spayed, negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and current on my shots. My former owner called me “playful and submissive,” so you get the idea of what kind of pet I can be under the right circumstances. Oh, and I like catnip. I have lived with other cats, so could be someones big (in more ways than one) sister. All I need is a second chance to prove what a big old loving pussy cat I can be.  https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/34888656

Name: Mufasa

ppmufasa

You probably recognize my name if you are a fan of that famous movie about a lion who is king. I do not have pretensions about being lion-like, but I am quite handsome and dignified, an all-around nice boy who has lived successfully with both a dog and a cat. A family member developed a severe allergy to me, which is unfortunate since we all got along so well. So it goes. For the record, I am five years old, have been neutered, am negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and am up to date on my necessary shots. I am tolerant of being picked up briefly, and my favorite thing is window-sitting and watching life go by. If you could arrange that, we would be the best of friends, which is all I really want in the whole world. https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35623186

Name: Nala

My owner is moving to a nursing home, leaving me with the task of finding a new person to be the love of my life. I’m eleven years old and I thought we would grow old together…well, so much for those plans. I think the best way to describe me is “round” I have a round body, a round face, small rounded ears…and most important, I also have a well-rounded personality!. I am very attractive (this is not the time for modesty, right?) and have experience as a windowsill decoration, so I’m sure I will successfully add to your homes decor, not to mention adding lots of love to your life. https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35035777

Name: Ranma

ppranma

So you are probably wondering about my unusual name, right? An internet search will help to sort that out, but just let me add that when I was a youngster, my owners thought I was a boy, so once you read about “Ranma” you will understand the significance of my name. Now on to other things. First, my lovely coat. Kind of grey, kind of tan, some white, just a hint of red. Pretty special, yes? My former owners would tell you that I like to cuddle, and I also like to play with toys and have experience living with another cat. I am, of course, spayed, negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and current on my inoculations. At twelve years of age, I’m mature and settled, so you will not have to worry about me climbing the drapes or keeping you up all night racing around your house. All good, right? But don’t take my word for it. Come in and meet me and see for yourself. https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35853887

My story is a little complicated. I was living at another shelter and was adopted by a family with a young child. Like many cats, I have boundaries and sometimes little kids don’t understand that. So I ended up back in the same shelter. Then that shelter closed and all of us found other places to go. I got really lucky and was selected by the Bucks County SPCA. So here I am, sweet and lovely (if I do say so myself) with a brown tiger coat and beautiful green eyes. I am spayed, have tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and am current on my shots. I am a little on the roly-poly side, but my human friends here are helping me with a managed diet. As for increasing my exercise, I will likely be adding a few daily laps around the Cat Room to my weight-loss program. At five years of age, I am actually in the prime of cat life and looking forward to what will come next. I want you to be a part of my future. And soon! https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35294571

My life has come full circle. In 2009 I was adopted from the Bucks County SPCA, and here I am…back again. Let me explain: recently I started having disagreements with the other cat in the household. I’m not blaming anyone, mind you, but my owners decided that peace would probably never be restored unless one of us moved out – you know how family quarrels can be. Being the gorgeous and wonderful girl that I am, I guess they felt that I would have no trouble finding a new home. Heres why: I have a sleek, shiny black coat with four white declawed paws (yes, declawed front and back) and tuxedo markings. My nose is especially velvet-y soft. At eight years of age, I’m a quiet, laid back kind of gal, spayed, negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and up-to-date on my shots. Given recent history, I’m guessing I might do better as an only cat – I wont miss having a feline roommate, and really, you wont either because I’m all the cat you’ll ever want! https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/34945841

Name: Tippy

pptippy

I am a small, slender cat who at one time lived in a feral cat colony, which explains my “tipped” ear (and the name I was given here). Those days are behind me, thankfully. Being free to roam may sound like a romantic life, but it is no fun to be cold, hungry and afraid with no one to love you! I am grateful to be where I can feel safe and life is definitely looking up. So let us start with my interesting coat, a mix of grey, yellow, tan and white, with a distinctive little tan spot above each of my beautiful eyes. I have been spayed, am negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and have been given my necessary inoculations. I do not know exactly how old I am, but somewhere in the range of 2-3 years. My guess is that if asked, my human friends here would describe me as sweet and undemanding. What I want more than anything in the world is a forever home where I will be loved and cared for. That is not too much for a girl to ask, is it? https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35853888

Name: Winnie

ppwinnie

Talk about the circle of life! I was originally adopted from this shelter when I was just a kitten. Now, five years later, I am back here to start another chapter in my life because my owners are moving and cannot take me along. That is hard for me to understand since I have been such a great pet. So if I seem a little withdrawn when you visit, please understand my temporary unhappiness at this major change in my life. I am a pretty girl with a beautiful all black shiny coat. I have been spayed, am negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and am current on my shots. Although I may appear a little shy right now, I hope you will take the time to get to know me because I really want to meet you. My opinion? We could have a great life together! https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35810623
