Tropical Storm Hermine May Impact Lower Bucks County

hmCrN6IsyUEAEaVNmBased on forecast models, meteorologist at the National Weather Service (NWS) have growing confidence that Tropical Storm Hermine will impact Lower Bucks County.

Meteorologist Gary Szatkowski said Wednesday evening that the track for Hermine had moved further west, meaning more of an impact for the region. The storm could impact the region Saturday and Sunday.

A preliminary briefing package sent to emergency planners and the media by the NWS stated that forecasters had “moderate confidence” that there would be heavy rain along with the storm. They added: “However, specific rainfall amounts are highly dependent on the eventual track of the storm. Recent dry weather will lessen the severity of any stream and river flooding that may develop. Street flooding and flash flooding is a greater threat.”

Winds are not expected to be much of a threat if the tropical storm hits the area.

Hermine is also posing a threat to the Gulf region.
