Bucks County residents are able to get free flu shots.
The flu shots are available for Bucks County residents as part of the county Department of Health’s annual clinic. Officials said no appointments are needed for the clinics.
The flu shots for kids age 3 and up will be available at the following times and places:
- Saturday, September 24: Department of Health office at 261 California Road in Quakertown from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Saturday, October 1: Department of Health office at 7321 New Falls Road (by the library) in Levittown from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Saturday, October 14: Department of Health office at 1282 Almshouse Road in Doylestown from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
After October 15, residents looking to get a free flu shot can call county health officials at 215-345-3318 to set up an appointment.
At their September 7 meeting, the Bucks County Commissioners approved the purchase of $70,300 worth flu vaccine from Sanofi Pasteur.
The clinics this year are in place of the semi-regular pandemic drill that first responders and health officials hold at various locations throughout the county. The drill focuses on vaccinating large amounts of people at a central location in a short period of time.
