Judging by the crowds at the Newtown Business Association’s 10 annual Expo and Culinary Fair, the event was a smashing success.
Vendors and members of the public packed the hall at the Newtown Athletic Club in Newtown Township for the event Wednesday afternoon and evening.
NBA President Bev Dimler was thrilled by the turnout and said there were businesses calling up until the hours before the event looking for spots. “I wish I had more room for all of the ones who called late,” she said.
The Newtown Business Association (NBA) Expo and Culinary Fair featured 70 association members with about 10 slots being taken by food vendors. The food vendors included Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, Corner Bakery Cafe, Corporate Source Catering, Isaac Newton’s Restaurant, Joe G’s and Joseph’s Premiere Event Catering, La Stalla Restaurant, McCaffrey’s Food Markets, Passanante’s Home Food Services, Piccolo Trattoria, and Slacks Hoagies.
“This is great. I don’t live here – I’m in Trenton, just outside in Mercer County – and I get to meet the business owners and try the restaurants over here, which is where I work,” said Christine Gorman, a business consultant whose work keeps her in the Newtown and Langhorne areas.
Christine Aust-Morales of Corporate Source Catering said the event was great for the veteran and family-owned firm she is a part of to showcase their services to the local business community.
“I going to have to stop back next year on my way back home,” Gorman said.
