Newtown Borough first responders are inviting the public to come meet them Saturday.
From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Newtown will be hosting a Community Safety Day on Liberty Street. The event will feature the Newtown Borough Police Department, Newtown Fire Association and Newtown Ambulance Squad.
The event will feature bike and helmet safety checks, bike registrations, public inspections of emergency vehicles, tours of the police and fire stations, a chance to talk with first responders and prizes.
Organizers posted on Facebook that they would be watching the weather in advance of the event.
