New Year New Career Job Fair Happening Wednesday

Finding a new job tops the list of New Year’s resolutions. In fact, two out of five job seekers begin their new career searches in January.

On Wednesday, January 18, RecruitmentQueen, in conjunction with Bucks County employers and the Neshaminy Mall, will help local job seekers make good on their career-related promises.

Jobs in administration, customer service, healthcare, retail, management, sales, insurance, warehouse, banking and more will be plentiful, according to Jennifer Schultz, RecruitmentQueen CEO. So far, Holy Redeemer Health System, Robert Half, HCR Manorcare, Pennswood Village, Vertical Screen, Fred Beans Family of Dealerships, Metro Public Adjustment, PA CareerLink, Northeast Building Products, Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services and AFC Fitness, Univest, Ann’s Choice, KR Communications, Foundations Behavioral Health, Quad Graphics, Chandler Hall, Griswold Home Care, The Horsham Clinic, First National Bank and Trust Co. of Newtown, Bensalem Police Department, Bayada Nurses, Salute2Service, All American Hospice, Angel Companions, Right At Home, Franchesca’s and NewtownPANow.com have signed up to exhibit. In addition, Neshaminy Mall’s Chick-Fil-A, Payless Shoe Source, Time After Time Modell’s Sporting Goods and AMC Movie Theatres will be offering positions as well, according to Colby Gair Springer, the mall’s property management associate.

Schultz said she anticipates 40-50 employers to attend, offering hundreds of Bucks County jobs.

“We certainly have plenty of space,” Schultz said.

This is the first time that the third annual job fair is being held at the mall.

“It will be bigger than normal,” Schultz said. “It’s a good location. Everyone knows where the mall is.”

Employers will set up in Sears court primarily, as well as near Barnes & Noble. The new location means greater accessibility for job seekers traveling by public transportation or for people living nearby in northeast Philadelphia.

Schultz held a job fair at Neshaminy Mall in the past and she and her daughter, Ashley, exhibited at the mall previously.

“I’m looking for other venues that are more well-known that could fit a larger footprint of people,” she said of the decision to move from hotel space to the Neshaminy Mall.

The mall is accessible quickly by via Route 1 and other area roads. SEPTA’s 14, 58 and 130 buses also make stops at the mall.

Tips for career fair success

Schultz recommends that job seekers:

  • Update their resumes and bring along plenty of copies
  • Practice their 30-second introduction (since job seekers will meet and speak directly with hiring managers)
  • Dress professionally – no flip flops, jeans, T-shirts, etc.
  • Research employers of interest beforehand
