The Council Rock School District decided Wednesday night to close Thursday in advance of an impending snowstorm.
The storm is expected to bring 6 to 12 inches of snow to the Newtown area, according to the National Weather Service.
In addition, the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology will also be closed Thursday.
The closure marks the first weather-related one for the district this winter.
