The Eighth Congressional District’s representative is making an effort to talk to small business owners.
Last week, freshman Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick’s office confirmed he was launching a district-wide ” small business listening tour aimed at learning more about Bucks and Montgomery county small businesses and ensuring their voice is represented in Congress.”
The tour, similar to one held when his brother was congressman, aims to visit 100 small businesses to get feedback on everything from tax and regulatory reform, to healthcare and infrastructure.
“When our local small businesses succeed, they create jobs, invigorate our communities, and preserve the distinct character of our local economy,” Fitzpatrick said in a statement. “As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and member of the House Committee on Small Business, I’m committed to visiting 100 small businesses across Bucks and Montgomery Counties this year, and every year, to better appreciate the needs of local small businesses and to help them create good paying jobs right here in our community.”
The tour included a stop last Friday at PDC Machines in Warminster and will continue throughout the year.
As a candidate for congress, Fitzpatrick said he wanted to fix what he feels is a broken tax code and reduce complicated policies that stifle business.
