Nominee voting for the 2017 Bucks County Teacher of the Year contest closes Friday.
Dozens of teachers from Bucks County, including from the Council Rock School District and several private schools, are on the voting list. The list is made up of teachers nominated by students, parents, colleagues and other community members in the annual contest that is put on by Inspire Federal Credit Union, which is moving its headquarters to Newtown Township later this year.
After voting closes Friday, the top finalists will be chosen and the winner will be announced at the credit union’s annual meeting in April.
A committee comprised of Inspire Federal Credit Union management and board members, as well as other selected individuals in the education community, will review all applications to pick the Bucks County Teacher of the Year.
Due to additional support from Sperry Van Ness Ahia Commercial Real Estate in Middletown and Arroso’s Restaurant in Falls Township, the prize for the contest has been increased to $2,500 for the winner, while the two runners-up each receive $1,000. In addition, the school of each of the three finalists will receive $500.
