Daylight Saving Time Starts Sunday


Despite snow on the ground, we’re one step closer to warm weather.

This Sunday at 2 a.m., the clocks with spring one hour forward to mark the beginning of Daylight Saving Time.

One major downside, you lose an hour of sleep Sunday.

Fire safety officials always say the time change is a great opportunity for residents to check their smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms and home escape plans.

Daylight Saving Time has its roots in World War I energy consumption and became a national standard in the 1960s. Mexico and Canada also take part in Daylight Saving Time.
