Man Accused Of Taking Around $2,000 In Glasses

A 38-year-old man is accused of taking thousands of dollars in eyeglasses from a Newtown Township shop.

Davin McDowell Mundy, who has no fixed address, was arrested last week changed with retail theft and receiving stolen property.

Mundy is accused of taking $2,000 worth of RayBan glasses from Design for Vision in the Newtown Shopping Center last Wednesday.

After the theft, Newtown Township officers circulated images of Mundy, who was not yet identified, to the public and area police departments.

Police said they got their big break last Thursday when Upper Southampton officers grabbed the 38 year old after an incident at a glasses shop in their town.

Newtown Township sent an investigators who identified Mundy as the suspect from the previous day’s retail theft, police said.

Mundy was arraigned by District Judge Mick Petrucci and sent to prison after being unable to post 10 percent of $50,000 bail.
