Vigil Held In Newtown After Violence In Charlottesville

More than 100 people gathered in Newtown Borough Monday evening to speak out against peace and violence.

The event was titled “Candlelight Vigil of Peace, Love, Justice and Anti-Racist Solidarity.”

The group gathered at the corner of State Street and East Centre Avenue and marched to the Newtown Friends Meetinghouse on Court Street for a discussion.

The vigil comes days after violence erupted at and around white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Peace Center in Langhorne, Racial Justice Delaware Valley and Rise Up Doylestown sponsored the Newtown event.
