Newtown celebrated its annual Market Day on Saturday.
Streets were lined with food and vendors while hayrides took people around town.
The main point of Market Day, according to Mary Callahan, the corresponding secretary for the Newtown Historic Association, is to help to raise money for the organization. The day sets out to recreate a day straight from the colonial time period.
Fair weather and a strong reputation brought out many people to enjoy the day and revel in its festivities.
